Ha! You have come a long way from the days of the incinerator and the ’69 Ford LTD. Here are some recent ideas from the Green Hotels Association:

•Coins or chips are being used for car parking instead of paper tickets.

*Bicycles are being loaned or rented to guests.

*Solar energy is being used to light signage.

•Mowed landscaping is being replaced by ground cover.

Require all our cars going forward to run on diesel and get 25% better gas mileage for the entire USA fleet of vehicles.

More e-mail and less old school mail (already happening), although it hurts the post office, we are using less fossil fuels to move paper based documents.

Okay – Hello. This is not an original thought – but it’s a great way to reduce that carbon footprint. Ride your bike to work. (Unless you live right down the hall – then ride your bike to the grocery store, the concert, your friend’s house). I don’t do it enough and if this rain ever stops I plan to do it a lot more.
