Build-Your-Own Vail Golf Package Lets Colorado Golfers Save by Spending in Vail Valley
With outrageous views, courses designed by golfing greats like Palmer and Norman, and those extra-long high-altitude drives, Vail, Colo., knows how to make every golfer feel like Tiger Woods. Now Antlers at Vail makes a good thing even better with its new Build-Your-Own Vail Golf Package – crediting $100 off the regular room rate of each night’s stay May 15 – June 26 and September 9 – October 14, 2013, toward golf, meals, or any activities or retail purchases made in Vail.
“Show us your receipts for up to $100 a day spent in Vail, and we’ll credit that amount to your room bill,” says Antlers at Vail General Manager Rob LeVine, who says the new golf package is “perfect for spontaneous guests” who don’t want to be tied to a specific itinerary in advance.
With 17 championship golf courses within a 38-mile radius, half of them open to the public, Vail Valley is a links-lover’s dream. To help create the perfect golfing getaway, Antlers at Vail’s expert travel staff – including LeVine, an avid golfer – can recommend the perfect course, as well as arranging tee times, restaurant reservations and more. Vail area golf courses include:
- Vail Golf Club – highlighted by views of the Gore Mountain Range, this mountain-style 18-hole course is a favorite with guests and locals alike, featuring uniquely challenging fairways with everything from bunkers to beaver ponds to test golfers’ accuracy.
- Eagle Ranch Golf Club – recently honored by Colorado Avid Golfer Magazine as the “Best Mountain Course in Colorado for under a $100 green fee,” this Arnold Palmer-designed public course has the feel of a links course plus an extensive practice facility.
- Eagle Vail Golf Club – this unique 18-hole river-and-woods course crosses the scenic Eagle River several times on the front nine and challenges golfers with big elevation changes among aspen, lodgepole pine and fir trees on the back nine. Brand new GPS-equipped golf carts help keep golfers on track.
- Sonnenalp Golf Club – located in the Edwards Valley, this 7,100-yard semi-private course has been recognized by Golf Digest in its “Top 100 Resort Courses” and consistently ranks as one of Colorado’s top three courses in Colorado Golf Magazine. Antlers GM LeVine is a Sonnenalp member. “I’m always looking for an excuse to get to know Antlers guests better, if you happen to need a fourth – hint, hint,” he says with a smile.
The Antlers at Vail’s Build-Your-Own Vail Golf Package is available May 15 – June 26 and September 9 – October 14, 2013 and provides a discount of up to $100/night based on Vail purchases made that day. Antlers at Vail rates start at $240/night for a Studio Suite ($140 after $100 credit). Unfortunately, the Build-Your-Own Vail Golf Package cannot be combined with any other discounts.
Vail Valley golf events of note taking place during Antlers at Vail’s spring offering of its Build-Your-Own Vail Golf Package include the 10th Mountain Division Tribute Tournament on May 27 at the Red Sky Ranch Golf Club in Eagle County with proceeds to fund ongoing educational programs and exhibits at the Colorado Ski Museum, headquartered in Vail. Then on May 31, the Eagle Chamber holds its annual fundraising event the Screaming Eagle Golf Tournament at the Eagle Ranch Golf Club, with proceeds going toward the Eagle Chamber Scholarship Fund, awarded annually to an Eagle Valley High School Senior. And on June 15, the Golf Channel will hold its Vail Valley Open at Eagle Ranch Golf Club, providing an authentic PGA Tour experience for players of all abilities.
