Blizzard Ski and Snowboard Sale!!

Friday, August 13th, 2010

August 13th-15th only!  Get up to 70% off great items like skis, snowboards, goggles, jackets, etc.  I got a great deal on some new snowboarding pants from Burton, which I was in dire need of.  I would have bought lots more, but my husband told me I couldn’t spend any more money because I already had too much :(

There were tons of buckets of beanies, goggles, gloves and base layers.  If you are in the valley are are in need of ski gear to get you ready for the winter, I’d hurry to the Lionshead Village (only 150 yards from us at the Antlers at Vail) and start shopping the sales!  Most of the retail shops are having a great sale on their apparel too!

They are also GIVING AWAY 2010-2011 Vail/Beaver Creek Ski Pass, gift cards, and much more.  The sale begins at 10am on Friday, August 13th and continues through Sunday, August 15th

See you roaming the sidewalks!

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

So many guests and possible guests at the Antlers at Vail condominiums ask us “how far are you to the Vail ski lifts?”, ”are you ski in and ski out? ”, or ”how long does it take to walk to the Vail gondola?”.  Well check out the video below of a head cam perspective (and the best polka song in the history of the world) of our short 150 yards walk to the ski lifts and Vail ski school.  It’s easy and maybe even fun!

Antlers at Vail Hotel Offers Prime Season Ski, Snowboard Deal and Free Storage

July 27, 2010 – Vail, CO – What’s a traveling skier to do?  Most major airlines now charge hefty fees for checked baggage, but a pair of skis will hardly fit in a carry-on bag.  At the Antlers at Vail hotel, the staff continually thinks of ways to add value to their guests’ vacation experiences.  The most recent enticement?  Free ski and snowboard storage for guests.

“We recognize that it’s increasingly expensive to travel with skis and snowboards,” says General Manager Rob LeVine.  ”So when you stay with us we’ll gladly store as much of your equipment here as you want until you return, even from year to year.”  The complimentary storage program is just one of many value-oriented amenities the hotel offers its guests, from free parking in the property’s heated indoor garage to free Internet access and day passes to the Vail Athletic Club.

This winter, the Antlers will again offer its popular “Value Vail” package at the height of ski season.  From January 8 to February 16, 2011 guests can enjoy 30% savings off regular prices.  Rates for the five-night package start at just $220 per person per night for four people in a two-bedroom condo – including four-day lift tickets for all four skiers!  LeVine recommends booking early to secure a package.  “Despite last year’s rocky economy we were at near capacity levels for much of the ski season,” he says.  “We’re anticipating more skiers and snowboarders this winter, so we recommend that travelers lock in dates and packages as soon as possible.”

The Antlers Vail offers condominiums ranging from studio suites up to four bedrooms with fully-equipped kitchens, fireplaces, outdoor balconies, free Internet access and free heated indoor parking.   Every room provides plenty of space to spread out and all the comforts of home, and the Antlers’ Vail-insider staff is on call to answer questions big or small.  Conveniently located 200 yards from the Vail Gondola, numerous restaurants, galleries and shops are within walking distance and the free Vail town shuttle stops just footsteps away.  Named the ‘Green Business of the Year’ in 2009 by the Vail Valley Partnership Success Awards, the Antlers Vail condominiums is also proud to be a Green Star-rated business.  For more information, call 1-800-843-8245 or visit www.antlersvail.com.

Will this snow in Vail Colorado ever end?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

This April has just been amazing for snow at the Antlers at Vail hotel in Vail Colorado.  Someone said we received 8 feet of fresh snow this past month and I believe them.  This Wed-Sat we received anywhere from 18-24 inches of additional snow.  Some pics nearVail mountain below were taken on Friday, others today on Sunday May 2nd.  You can easily ski all the way to the bottom of the Vail ski mountain at this time.  Up on top, the Forest Service snow depth shows 64 inches of base (or 5 feet of settled snow).  Not too bad for May 2nd.  Chris R.

April 3rd, 3 inches of new Vail snow

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Another 3 inches of snow in Vail reported this morning.  And more snow is predicted throughout the week.  Why do we always have to wait until April to get all this snow?  Check out this link for an update on Vail weather, etc.  and don’t forget to visit the Vail Cam for a cam shot into the Back Bowls.

Vail Resorts International Alliance Trade Show

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I generally like to attend and participate in trade shows, I love to explain to people why the Antlers is the best place to stay in the Vail Valley, and it is also a challenge to invite people to come to our booth; However, I particularly enjoy to be a part of the Vail Resorts International Alliance trade show, which this year was held in the Evergreen Lodge (they did a great job!) on Monday, December 7, 2010.

It is so much fun listening to people speaking in so many languages; discover what their motivation is and what their markets are looking for.  International travel agents open our eyes, and help us to understand our very own international guests.

I am always amazed at how much people love our foam antlers, our bags and everything we put out. One guest told me: “I will take one of your Antlers foam, to my son in Spain, and I will send you a picture of him” Isn’t that awesome? We truly feel thankful and appreciative for all the Vail Resorts international work! We couldn’t reach those markets without their dedicated work.

I was delighted to see some of my friends from Rio and Sao Paulo. The ones I visited last September and those that I had just met via phone. Thank you guys, for all your business and your interest in our property!

Whether you are looking for a property to assist you in making reservations in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, The Antlers at Vail has it all! And if we cannot assist you at once, please be patient. We will grab our dictionaries and will make your reservation experience the easiest possible for you!

December 8th Vail snow report, snowing hard

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Vail ski report and Vail ski conditions for December 8th.  We received 2 inches of snow yesterday but then nothing last night (Monday).  But then it started snowing pretty hard this morning at 7am.  It snowed throughout the day.  Tough to say how much snow, but I think we received another 8 inches.  They opened most of the runs underneath Chair 4 Mountain top express.  It shouldn’t be long before they open Game Creek bowl and the Northwoods.  The picture below is riding up Chair 4 at 9:30am.  COLD  Chris R.

Vail Snow Report December 1

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Mark Ulmschneider (owner of unit 517) and I skied for around four hours this Tuesday.  We had a GREAT time, with the terrain that we had available to us.  We completed runs off the Gondola, Chair 8, the Vista Bahn and Avanti.  There were not any bumps around so we were perfecting our technique throughout the day, working on angulation and pole plants.  Gotta keep that upper body quiet when skiing.  We toured down to Mid-Vail to check on the status of Chairs 3 and 4.  Things look good for opening but when we asked, no one knew when?
We can’t wait……..    Chris R.
