The Games are Back

The GoPro Mountain Games have been postponed, and will be back August 20-23, 2020. Though the games will not take place in June as usual – let’s look at the bright side. Are you planning to compete? Now there’s more time to train. Get those trail running shoes out, tune up your bike, or get on the climbing wall – the GoPro Mountain Games in Vail are waiting for you!

How To Have an Awesome Time at the Mountain Games

Biking, climbing, rafting, fly-fishing, trail running, and yoga sessions are just the start of what you’ll experience during this celebration of summer in Vail. Competitors from all over the world visit Vail to participate in this iconic alpine sporting event.

Watching the competitions are exciting, but participating in events like the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run are even more fun. Amateurs and professionals alike are welcome to compete in the games. Registering to compete is easy by signing up on the Mountain Games site. Spots to compete fill in quickly though so be sure to sign up in advance! Registration is delayed for now, but will open again soon.

Concerts during the Mountain Games can’t be missed and are held Thursday through Sunday in Vail Village. Headliners such as Langhorn Slim and the Law and Citizen Cope have played awesome, energetic shows in past years. This year, the GoPro Mountain Games will welcome headliners Deer Tick and Twiddle to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Visit the Music section of the Mountain Games site for a full line-up.
